Abstract
Hydrodynamic forces are calculated for vertical compound cylinders component of two concentric circular cylinders of different diameters in finite depth waters. The interior is divided into two parts, interior lower and interior upper, the remainder of the fluid volume is the exterior region and solutions for each region are expanded into a series of eigen functions. Interior solutions are next matched with exterior solutions so that the continuity of mass flux and pressure are satisfied. To compare the results of the present method with other methods, wave induced forces on the cylinder are also calculated according to the Haskind's relation. (from authors' abstract)
