Abstract

The present work concerns the development of a Fourier Spectral Variational Asymptotic Method for Unit Cell Homogenization (FS-VAMUCH) for homogenization of cellular composite structures. The proposed method is spectral, meshless and uses exact integration. Implementation of the FS-VAMUCH is achieved by developing an in-house code which is verified against reference data reported in the literature. Sensitivity computation using the chain rule is presented and verified against a centered, finite-difference approximation.
