Abstract

In the present study, usability of geotextile based materials instead of classical materials are discussed in coastal protection. In the construction site, because lack of supplying natural materials (rock), sand filled container solutions are taken in consideration. Several geotubes were replaced overlap each other as height as wave run up. Numerical tests were performed waves touched directly to the geotubes, and then armoring layer covered geotubes and wave loads determined over geotubes under the armoring layer. Numerical analysis (ANSYS 14.0) results are indicated possible to applying geotubes for coastal protection by without armoring later but also geotubes performed well with armoring later too.
