Abstract

A non-reflecting boundary condition (NRBC) is presented for solving large or infinite domain problems of acoustics and elastic wave propagation. As shown, the proposed boundary condition is well suited for use with finite element methods. The formulation and implementation of the proposed NRBC are given and numerical examples are presented that demonstrate its competitiveness with the DtN method.
