Abstract

In this study, an algorithm is proposed for the nonlinear analysis of reinforced concrete plates subjected to uniformly distributed load. The nonlinear analysis algorithm is based on changing of stiffness with respect to internal forces that are obtained from incremental loading. The calculation process is carried out by using finite element method for orthotropic plates and terminated when the maximum vertical displacement of plate reached to a limit value. The plates having different geometries and boundary conditions are solved and compared with other solutions. The comparison of the results are in a good agreement.
