Abstract

Residential kitchen hoods are one of the sources of noise in house. The growing demand for highly efficient, reliable and inexpensive home appliances has driven the need for state-ofthe- art numerical tools to predict, evaluate and optimize both the existing and new designs. Improving the residential kitchen hoods. design requires in-depth knowledge of the structure. In particular, the dynamic behavior of the structure during the running period needs to be studied carefully at the design stage. In this study, vibration and noise behavior of a residential kitchen hood were determined by analytically and experimentally.
