Abstract
A new method is presented for distribution system reliability assessment. The method brings two distinct features. The first one is related to minimal path determination and is mainly derived from an existing method by slight modifications. The second one is related to simulation of active failures and provides a considerable time saving. The principle depends on the S and SS groups, established for the nodes existing in basic minimal cut sets. The proposed method is applied to a sample distribution network and the reported numerical values are attained with less effort.
