Abstract

The new NIR imaging measurement method enables the direct determination of macrostickies. Macrostickies are determined without separation step directly in handsheets of material samples or in finished paper samples quantitatively according to number, size and area and are chemically identified. The control of the measurement and the evaluation occur automatically over a module of the PTS image analysis measurement system DOMAS multi spec. A measurement of 40 x 40 cm finished paper or four handsheets (Ø 20 cm) including the evaluation takes approximately 5 minutes. The new measurement method enables the macrosticky analysis in considerably more sample material, in a shorter time and with lower personnel costs as in the methods used until now, like for example in the INGEDE Method 4
