Abstract

In this study, three new porphyrin-imine ligands (HA-HC) and their Cu(II), Fe(III) and Mn(III) complexes were prepared and characterized by the analytical and spectroscopic methods The substituent effects on the electronic and emission properties of the porphyrin-imine ligands were investigated in solutions. The electrochemical properties of the porphyrin-imine ligands and their metal complexes were investigated in DMF solution. The ligands showed reversible redox potentials in the positive regions. Superoxide dismutase (SOD) mimetic studies of the metal complexes of the porphyrin-imine ligands were investigated and the results of the complexes in this work showed higher activity than some reported SOD mimics. Finally, the DNA (fish sperm FSdsDNA) binding studies of the prepared compounds were investigated.
