Abstract
In this study, a mathematical model is developed for an integrated downdraft biomass gasifier and solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) system. The models for the SOFC as well as the other components are developed in Matlab environment. Regarding the mathematical modelling, energy and exergy analyses are conducted to assess the system's performance. Then thermo-economic analysis is performed in order to find the electricity production cost. After that, a multi-objective optimization study using TOPSIS method is conducted in order to find the optimum operating conditions.
