Abstract

In this study, moment-curvature relationships of reinforced concrete columns, which were extemally confined with epoxy bonded fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) composite sheets in transverse direction, are obtained by using cross-sectional fiber analysis approach. During fiber analysis, a relatively new constitutive model for the axial stressaxial strain relationship of concrete confined with FRP composites is utilized. The analytical method is used for predicting moment-curvature relationships of various columns tested by different researchers, and it was seen that the predicted and experimental moment-curvature relationships were in reasonably good agreement. Then the method is used for determining the effects of various variables on the momentcurvature relationships of reinforced concrete members jacketed with FRP composites.
