Abstract

Mogul, Turkey has successfully set a benchmark globally for the production of spunbond and meltblown technology. Mogul has installed a new line PP (polypropylene) spunbond line with 250 cm width, single beam for production. The meltblown technology is complicated compared with spunbond technology and requires certain know how and market knowledge. Mogul has added a calender as well as an ultrasonic unit to this line, along with spray unit and corona treatment. Mogul has also installed a foam coating machine, which was working on-line with the PET spunbond line. Mogul employs 120 people and has a $22 million turnover. Its PET (polyethylene terephthalate) spunbond fabrics are mostly used as a carrier for coating and laminating applications for technical applications. The company eagerly wants to develop bicomponent, micro and nanofiber spunbonds, as well as composites with many different fibers in the spunbond structure.
