Abstract
This paper presents a comparative study of user experience on two mobile navigation applications having different user interaction styles. To this end, we developed two mobile applications, which provide navigation and various services through a 2D map interface, and through an augmented reality browser user interface. Both applications were tested using a navigation scenario, in which the users navigate in a route previously unknown to the users in Istanbul Technical University Ayazaga campus. By conducting user experience tests and measuring the travel duration, the advantages and disadvantages of both interfaces were evaluated.
