Abstract
Micro-Sats under 50 kg mass now reached the capability to host high performance payloads for a number of missions. Majority of missions are communications and earth observation. Present work is for a 1.5m/pixel GSD at 500km multispectral payload. High performance observation missions require tight compliance with payload operational requirements leading to micrometer tolerances both in mechanical design and manufacturing. The present paper details payload requirements relations to design and manufacturing with evaluations based on in orbit operations.
