Abstract

In this work, mechanical properties of dental porcelain veneers on NiCrMo substrates were experimentally and numerically investigated using an indentation technique. The indentation technique was applied to porcelain veneers using a diamond indenter. The NiCrMo substrate and ceramic veneers were assumed to be homogeneous, isotropic and infinite bodies. The indentation test performed with a Vickers indenter was simulated by three dimensional finite element analyses. The experimental and numerical results are presented.
