Abstract
An overview is given on the effect of a mean cycling strain on the fatigue properties of superelastic NiTi. First, a phase diagram in the space of mean strain and strain amplitude is proposed. Secondly, results of tests on polycrystalline NiTi tubes that demonstrate mean-strain effects on cycles to failure are discussed.
