Abstract
Land readjustment is an important technique for urban land development in Turkey, a developing country. Application of this method provides the development of new lands and a reorganization of the built-up places in urban areas as well as production of serviced urban land and areas required for public services. Although it has a legal history going back many years, LR applications are not effectively used in urban areas of Turkey. Here, the main constraints affecting the efficiency of the method are examined. The revisions required for the method to work effectively are discussed.
