Abstract

Lightning is one of the natural threats that has to be considered in the design and certification process of aircrafts for cost effective service life and safety reasons. In this paper, the lightning problem faced by aircrafts is evaluated with an analytical perspective. For this purpose, an analytical model is developed and the response of an aircraft wing exposed to lightning is evaluated.
