Abstract

Maintenance involves multidisciplinary arrangements covering planning to execution and it is one of the essential activities of asset management and engineering. Although arrangements pertinent to maintenance in manufacturing can be simplified depending on the line of interest in the engineering field, at the same time, it is getting complicated because of globalization and the involvement of multi-national industries. In this chapter, a general introduction to maintenance planning and engineering, and its contribution to business success are given.
