Abstract
The gradual depletion of resources all over the world is seen as the main source of many problems. In this context, landscape architects also have the responsibility of designing circular economy strategies that aim to protect and improve the natural and built environment in the spatial order. In this context, it is very important to develop design strategies for the use and creation of urban space in consumption and production models. Within the circular city, the cultural heritage needs to be readapted within the circular economy and integrated with all components of the urban system. The aim of this study is to define the planning and design processes from the 1/5000 master plan to the 1/200 design scale in the Istanbul-Beykoz industrial heritage area, based on the circular city strategies of landscape architecture undergraduate students, with architectural design pedagogy. The research questions that arise within the scope of this study are as follows: How can circular city strategies be employed in landscape design education? How can architectural design pedagogy be implemented in this process? Answering these questions is important in terms of addressing the circular city subject, which has become increasingly important in recent years, in the context of urban landscape design pedagogy.
