Abstract

In this paper, a dimensionless number (so called the Dincer number) applicable to the drying processes which was defined earlier is incorporated into the moisture transfer equation. Determination of the drying time for required moisture content data for the moist solids is discussed as function of the Dincer number. Graphical representation of the moisture content and drying time as function of the Dincer number appears to be more helpful in providing detail information that helps to explain the drying process in an easier way. It is also possible to estimate the drying times of moist solids and therefore, drying time for a prescribed moisture content or the moisture content at given drying times can easily be estimated once the Dincer number is known.
