Abstract

Several improvements on the previous work in further increasing the energy savings in network wide broadcast have been identified. Power adaptive broadcasting using local topology information is a best suited way for reducing energy consumption in network wide broadcast. The set of the neighboring nodes to perform retransmission with the goal of eliminating redundant retransmissions have been identified. The Chen et. al. algorithm is used as it allows each node to choose its transmission power level based on the information about its two hop neighbors.
