Abstract

This paper presents a detailed analysis of the large salient-pole synchronous generator (SPSG) with fractional slot concentrated winding for wind power generation applications. In order to achieve lighter, cheaper and high-efficiency SPSGs with a simpler winding structure, the fractional slot concentrated winding technique may be used. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) was conducted for analysis and detailed results including performance characteristics are presented.
