Abstract

In this paper, it is shown that performance of a phase shift keying (PSK) modulation over fading channels can be improved by properly rotating the signal constellation and using component interleaving/deinterleaving. The evaluated technique provides 2 dB gain at 10-3 symbol error probability for 8-PSK modulation over a Ricean fading channel when the ratio of the direct path signal power to the scattered signal power, K is 10.
