Abstract

In this paper a hybrid Elman network containing radial basis functions in its hidden layer is suggested for dynamic and chaotic system identification. Both Elman network and feedforward networks with radial basis functions are being successfully used in system identification. Here it is shown that a hybrid Elman network with radial basis functions gives better performance than simple Elman network in chaotic system identification applications.
