Abstract

Amidst the increasing demand for secure image encryption techniques, this paper presents an enhanced approach. We introduce the utilization of a 5-D hyper-chaotic system integrated into the Fibonacci Q-Matrix scheme for image encryption. The simplicity of the proposed system is evident, comprising twelve terms featuring three nonlinearities. Notably, the system demonstrates remarkable sensitivity to initial conditions, making it highly suitable for encryption purposes. To ensure the confidentiality of digital images, we employ a two-stage encryption process involving confusion and diffusion. Through extensive simulations, we demonstrate the effectiveness of the hyper-chaotic system in terms of both security and performance when combined with the Fibonacci Q-Matrix scheme.
