Abstract

There has been great number of efforts in UGV research in recent years, since they lead the way to several millitary applications as well as enhancing new technology development for active safety systems. In this paper, one of the first UGVs in Turkey: Otonobil, is introduced. Frst the conversion process of an electric vehicle (EV) to a fully autonomous car is presented. Then, brief results of first experiments on obstacle avoidance using artificial potential fields are mentioned with promising results.
