Abstract
Due to rising consumption and the need for sustainable growth, choosing green suppliers is becoming a critical issue for environmental conservation. A multiple criteria group decision-making (MCDM) problem is used in the green supplier selection process, wherein a number of experts rank suppliers according to several criteria. The Euclidean and Taxicab distances—which are computed using the negative-ideal point—are used in the COmbinative Distance-based Assessment System (CODAS) to assess the desirability of a potential alternative. According to the CODAS technique, the optimum option is the one that is closest to the negative ideal solution. Decimal numbers are needed for membership, non-membership, and indecision degrees in extensions of regular fuzzy sets. Proportional fuzzy sets which have been recently introduced to the literature ease assigning membership degrees in a more sensitive, consistent and stable way. To choose the optimal green supplier alternative, we apply the extended proportional intuitionistic fuzzy (PIF) CODAS technique. Green supplier selection application shows the superiority of the proposed PIF CODAS method.
