Abstract

In this research, different magnet positions has been applied to the BLDC motor design. Cogging torque, back-EMF and torque characteristics are the basic characteristics that effect the BLDC motor performance. Reference motor has been analyzed with using Flux2D finite element method computer programme. Datas coming from motor that analyzed compared with test results and design motor has been comflrmed. With using same magnet volume, different magnet positions has been applied to the reference design and basic characteristics of motor have been observed. Coqqing torque is the torque that adversly affecting the motor torque also cogging torque is the motor parameter that have critical importance at low speed, certain location information needed applications. Because of that cogging torques of different motor have been compared. Also Back-EMF and motor characteristics of different designs have been compared. According to results, it is decided that which magnet positioning is appropirate for each application.
