Abstract

This paper presents a fuzzy approach to the identification of an organization’s strategic management concepts (SMCs) – mission, vision, values and competences. The proposed approach handles indirect relationships and complex interactions existing among the SMCs, and deals with the subjective nature of human judgments and uncertainty inherent in the decision making process, as well. The approach is being applied to the Industrial Engineering Department (IED) at Istanbul Technical University.
