Abstract

Smart house systems have become widely used in buildings with increased capabilities of internet of things technologies. Most of these systems are expensive; therefore, the selection of best combination of the systems for a property is important. In this paper, to be able to prioritize the smart building products, the customer preference factors for smart home applications are prioritized using fuzzy DEMATEL method. Nine user preference factors are evaluated that are ease of use, ease of setup and installation, available features, reliability, privacy and safety, user interface/application control, ability to connect, customer support service and cost of device.
