Abstract

Titanium reinforced hydroxyapatite (TiHA) was prepared mixing 5 and 10 wt% of Ti powder with HA. The 2 specimens were subjected to sintering at temperatures up to 1200°C and 1300°C. The primary cultures of osteoblasts were prepared from sequential enzymatic digestion of calvarie obtained from 1-5 days old Wistar rats. TiHA sinterized at 1300°C showed significant increase in collagen production as compared to others TiHA.
