Assembly lines are production systems developed to meet the requirements of mankind. The main aim is to produce high demand products within the shortest time limits, in the most productive and cheap way with high quality. Assembly line balancing problem can be considered as a difficult optimization problem and today still some heuristic methods are needed to solve large scale assembly line balancing problems. In this study, heuristic assembly line balancing technique known as the "Ranked Positional Weight Technique", developed by Helgeson and Birnie was applied to balance assembly line balancing in a skirt production company.
