Abstract
Increase in consumer awareness with the technology developments and applications has led to investments in wearable electronics and intelligent electronic textile systems together with its associated industries. In this article, information about the materials, production and characterization techniques and application areas of textile based flexible electronics, fabric sensors and material integrated wearable intelligent systems are given. The chapter mainly discusses the recent advancements in the literature and the market of wearable electronic textiles (e-textiles) and absolutely vital parts that will guide the reader in understanding latest developments in the e-textiles research area.
