Abstract

The E-polarized wave scattering by two-dimensional unclosed cylindrical screen is considered. There has been considerable interest in utilizing such structures as reflectors of various geometries in modern communication and deep-space satellites and ground antenna systems. Our aim is the development of the simple effective method for solution of this problem and for calculation of various properties of such structures in resonant frequency range. We suggest the Chebyshev polynomial of the complicated argument as the basic functions. Those are eigenfunctions of the integral operator with 2X -periodic difference logarithmic kernel. Such kernel appears in the case of diffraction on the screens coinciding with the part of the closed smooth unself-intersecting contour which is a topological equivalent of the unit circle.
