Abstract
The effect of the adsorption of cetylpyridinium bromide on the flow behavior of bentonite dispersions was analyzed. It was found that the delamination of bentonite in water produces very thin particles and the flow behavior of the bentonite dispersions is modified by modest changes in the experimental conditions. It was concluded that the adsorption capacity and the influence of the cationic surfactant on the flow behaviors change with the nature of the exchangable cations.
