Abstract

This paper focuses on the economic dispatch (ED) problem of the multi-microgrid (MMG) system with renewable energy sources (RES). The ED problem provides an optimum cost schedule, considering the constraints of the system. In this study, ED has been solved by Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) method, which is one of the meta-heuristic methods. The MMG system used in this study consists of four generators and two MGs including RES. The ED problem has been considered for the systems with 2 MGs and without MG. For the cases with and without MGs, the costs were calculated as 94882.7 $/day and 108395.3 $/day, respectively. Thus, the operating cost of the system has been reduced by MMG. Also, MGs including RES, reduce emissions and increase reliability and power quality.
