Abstract
In the finite element method, the mapping distortions occurred in the transformation of coordinates of physical elements to the master elements can be fixed by adjusting the side nodes of the master element similar to physical element. In this study, a finite element algorithm is presented with improved serendipity element by adjusting the side nodes of master element. In this developed algorithm, von Mises yield criterion and elastoplastic behavior is adopted. The proposed algorithm is known as nonlinear finite element analysis and it is verified by examples.
