Abstract
The facilities of finite element method in modeling provide to apply in the analysis of the gear tooth stresses. In this study, what should be taken into consideration for establishing the proper finite element model of spur gear for contant simulation. Finite element model of gear tooth that allows the examination of tooth root stress of a gear pair during engagement is established and compared with other models given in literature.
