Abstract

Wind energy has become an important source that has begun to be used for energy in all over the world in recent years. In this study, by examining the wind potential of the western region of Turkey in detail, an analysis was made. The data were provided by the State Meteorology Affairs Kirklareli Office. In Kirklareli region, the energy produced on a 7.8 MW wind plant pattern constituted a model through ANFIS (Adaptive-Network Based Fuzzy Inference Systems). Then, with Wind Atlas Analysis and Application Program (WASP) and by counting the rates of capacity usage, wind energy potential was examined. In the light of the data obtained in the study, it has been determined that the method is quite successful and Kirklareli is suitable for wind plant investment.
