Abstract
In order to verify if the dyeability results obtained by the TYT (Textured Yarn Tester) are comparable with those of the KDg test (Knit-Dye-Grade) experimental studies were carried out on a number of textured yarns having different linear densities and filament numbers. It was found that the TYT equipment gave equally reliable, and usually superior results than the KDG method, with regard to the dyeability characteristics of the false-twist textured yarns. Also, the TYT equipment is likely to be able to detect more subtle irregularities that cannot be differentiated by the human eye. The results of the experiments are reported in same detail.
