Abstract

A Gilbert-cell mixer of high linearity, operating at 5 GHz, is designed using a commercially available 90 nm CMOS technology. The most important parameters for design are the conversion gain and input third intercept point (IIP3). The current flowing from the mixer, the sizes of transistors, and the bias voltages are obtained using the corresponding equations of the conversion gain and IIP3. Next, the values of components necessary for impedance matching are found. Finally, post-layout simulations are performed and the accomplished results have been discussed.
