Abstract

There are applications in which machines with very low exterior magnetic fields and low vibrations are required. This article presents a novel motor topology which has essentially none of the normal sources of magnetic alternating force. There is no 2E core vibration, no vibrations at slot passing frequencies and very low 6E torque pulsations. The motor also has the property that the external magnetic field (mainly the magnetic dipole moment) is controllable and tunable after construction. The paper discussed the unique features of this machine and the manufacture and initial testing of the device.
