Abstract

Electrical appliances in buildings are planned to work according to consumer preferences and managed with the help of advanced home energy systems. These systems are thought to be integrated with demand response programs through smart meters to produce solutions based on efficiency, cost and comfort. Management request and actions by the electricity provider and consumers may cause undesirable changes in the operation of the appliances. In addition, continuous increase in power-intensive loads in buildings necessitates the development of new approaches in coordinated management according to consumer preferences. This study investigates innovative real-time coordinated management approaches for flexible loads of a consumer according to the utility conditions and consumer needs. Dynamic modification of flexible load priorities was integrated with flexibility limit extension to overcome the drawbacks of static priority-based management.
