DÜNYA'DA HAMMADDE ÜRETİMİ VE TEDARİKİNDE KRİTİKLİK/STRATEJİKLİK: TÜRKİYE'DE MEVCUT DURUM VE GELECEK PROJEKSİYONU

The origin of minerals, mineral concentrates, chemical compounds, metals, and high technology products is defined as natural raw material resources, and the need for these resources is rapidly increasing in the socio-economic development processes of societies. Continuously developing technologies, population growth, and unbalanced distribution of raw material resources on Earth involve increasing risks in access to these resources, production, and supply processes. With the integrated evaluation of economic importance, supply/demand risks, zero carbon footprint, green production processes, digital and circular economy models and sustainability concepts, world countries develop new policies for resource protection in the procurement, production, and use of raw material resources based on the terms “Critical” and “Strategic” in their classification. Critical raw materials are of great importance for the European economy in the development of safe growth and new product technologies but are also envisaged as a condition for maintaining and improving the quality of life. Within the scope of this paper; studies on critical raw materials/critical raw materials lists in the select World countries and the European Union are reviewed and presented. Also, evaluations and suggestions about the importance of the subject matter and the situation of our own resources in the socioeconomic and political development processes for Türkiye are examined.
