Abstract

The study aimed to compare and evaluate the digital transformation of logistics in different countries with varying economic backgrounds through a qualitative multiple comparative case study analysis. The findings reveal the connections between digital transformation and sustainability in the logistics sector. The success of digital transformation is influenced by various factors, including technological infrastructure, collaborative partnerships, employee training, and organizational agility. However, the lack of skilled workers, particularly in countries with weak educational backgrounds, remains a challenge. The study also highlights the potential negative effects of digital transformation, such as increased carbon emissions. Nonetheless, the study provides insights into the factors and dimensions that enable successful digital transformation in logistics. Future research could further investigate the impact in logistics and connection between digital transformation and sustainable development goals (SDG’s) in different geographical regions and countries, as well as the sector’s digital transformation drivers, enablers, success factors in order to overcome the obstacles and challenges. Overall, this study emphasizes the importance of digital transformation in logistics and taking into account the specific context and requirements.
