N2 - The turbulent mixed convection in a vertical flat duct under overpower wall transient is analysed numerically to simulate abnormal working conditions. A finite difference procedure based on LSOR is used to solve the governing equations. The effect of wall overpower transient on velocity, pressure and temperature fields and heat transfer on the walls are investigated for different periods which defines the severity of the abnormal situation. The abnormality is found to increase as the period decreases.
