Abstract

In the scope of this study, the combustion experiments were performed with CWSs prepared from Zonguldak bituminous coal, Soma semi bituminous coal and Istanbul - YenikÖy lignite coals in pilot type down fired coal combustor. The particle size and combustion ratio were kept as constant in the experiments. The coalification degree which play an important role in the preparation stage of slurries is not as effective in combustion stage and it was determined that they are being combusted with 96.5-99 % efficiency regardless of coalification degree and the heat losses were found changing between 5-22 % depending upon coalification degrees.
