Abstract

In this contribution, combined energy conversion processes, systems, and applications are introduced with details ranging from basic thermodynamic aspects to advanced applications. Here, a combined energy conversion system refers to the systems where there are two systems combined for particularly power generation. There are multiple examples and case studies presented to show a wide range of systems for various applications. In addition, energy conversion systems are specifically categorized and described with some fundamental background information. The theory behind the energy conversion is extensively presented for comparison and evaluation purposes. Furthermore, several case studies are included to investigate the analysis and performance for combined energy conversion systems.
