Abstract

Boron doped titanium dioxide powders weresynthesized by sol-gel method. Titanium isopropoxidewas used as a starting material. The effect of boron onthe structure of boron doped titanium oxide powderswas investigated by adding different amounts of boroncompounds. Furthermore effects of synthesis parameterssuch as agents, molar ratio, aging duration andcalcination temperature on anatase to rutiletransformation were examined. Thermal analysis and Xraydiffraction techniques were used as well as electronmicroscopy and chemical analysis techniques for thecharacterisation and analysis of powders. Particle size ofboron doped titanium dioxide powders was also analysed.
